Restoration & Conservation

Restoring Roseland Creek, Santa Rosa

Roseland Creek is a jewel in the heart of southwest Santa Rosa. It flows 7 miles from the train tracks through the Roseland district, past the vernal pools at the old Santa Rosa Naval Air Station, to its confluence with the Laguna de Santa Rosa.

Roseland Creek flows through a beautiful, 20 acre patch of oak woodland, riparian forest and native grassland, locally known as the Neighborwood. We recently broke ground on a new restoration project with a goal to transform the creek into an outdoor classroom. Read more about this exciting new project in our Spring 2020 issue of Meanderings.

Our Commitment to Inclusion & Diversity

As public demand for racial justice continues to ring out across the country, environmental organizations are reflecting on their own roles in providing equitable opportunities for people of color to have positive experiences outdoors, connect with nature, and engage in conservation. The Laguna Foundation is embarking on its own journey of inquiry and action to become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. We invite you to read our Executive Director's statement.
